As an excercise ill volunteer that I make 17k a year (after taxes), work 45 (8am-5pm, lunches are not paid) hours a week. Would I work 50 hours a week for a pay increase of roughly 4,000 dollars a year? thats one extra hour a day and an extra 181 dollars per paycheque and 362 dollars per month. I would say that this is a reasonable trade off. one more hour in the office isnt going to kill me especially because of the workload, nature of work, close proximity to home, etc etc.
the extra 360 a month could pay for quite a few things; better quality food, debt repayment, gym membership, etc etc.
There is a drawback though which is, I will be attending night classes at the community college also within walking distance. This would leave no time to go to the gym despite earning more income. Since I already dont go to the gym anymore this is not a huge loss but the percieved loss is greater.
Taking this all into account I'd work an extra half hour a day and call it good.

Capcom has gone down hill in recent years. Used to be such a good shop.
Resident Evil 4 was supposed to be good.
Control scheme was certifiably weaksauce.

I still had a lot of fun with it. Most fun in a console game in ages.

Yes, and it was an improvement. But it seemed like the game mechanic was how to fight the controls the best way.

well it raises the question, at what point does money become less valuable than time.
and for most people there is a dollar per hour figure that would get them to work more
My wife is a nurse and won't do overtime shifts for straight time-- But pay double time and she is there
Meanwhile I will have 2% deducted by my employer to pay for an extra week of vacation. That seemed reasonable to me
But people make that tradeoff of time versus money all the time-- You notice a $2 error on your phone bill-- you know you are right but is it worth 30 minutes on hold to get it fixed
You drop a $5 bill and it blows down the street and catches on a fence- Do you walk the block to get it ?? etc etc

I think this is more a matter of having to work more if your skills are better. Most highly skilled people really don't have a choice. A lot of low skilled people don't have much of a choice either. They wish to work more hours but are often stuck as 30hrs/week or so.

More generally, whenever I have fought with commies on income disparities I have never gotten a good answer to how they reward people that work harder or longer or who went to the trouble to get additional skills.
If all jobs paid the same, I think I would be a phys ed teacher and have gym all day-- or mayve I would be some sort of park warden

While I am sure that does happen, it is happening less and less across Canada. The labour shortage is such in Alberta that across Canada there are ample lower-skilled jobs in all the urban centres.
People can get as many hours at most jobs as the labour legislation will allow and then go get another one besides.
I accept that this is not the case everywhere nor has it always been the case here

For a lot of people it depends on what their bills are too. I don't imagine your wife really has to work that much though, does she?
Exactly-- when we were starting out or when I had a worse job, she was more willing to take straight-time extra shifts.
Now that things are more comfortable she'll do her regular shifts but it takes double time to get her to do extra -- part of that is that she doesn't want that much time away from the kids and usually the available double-time shifts work out to be about how many extra she will do
As I said everyone has their own "price" at which they are willing to work more
