Bull. They screwed up relations with just about every ally we had. BTW this won't really do much harm to US-Turkish relations even in the unlikely event it passes. The President could veto it plus the Turks have already had their little hissy fits with countries like France and Germany so our declaration will just be an old hat. I doubt this would lead to anything more then a few newspaper articles and a couple of politicians making pandering speeches which will all be forgotten in a week.

The fact that it is a verb might have something to do with it.

The US lost Turkey ages ago. Why not put the boot in by whipping up a bit of a historical frenzy?

I kinda miss Bob Dole, a Repub who actually was pretty consistently against genocide everywhere.

Wow. Just, wow. Welcome to the Nedaverse.

Right. Ignoring the ignoring the general decimation of our allies' publics' approval of our foreign policy to the extent that we're seen as the greatest threat to world peace, as well as uncountable special cases where Congress has ****ed up foreign relations by rubber stamping the actions of Dear Leader, yeah, that could possibly be true...

i think what you meant so say is that using explode as a TRANSITIVE verb is what is irritating.

Which I still think is less irritating than someone exploding.
