Which is why a legal tenant has rights against a landlord - by signing the lease the landlord has sold legal rights (albeit time limited ones) to the tenant. An illegal squatter who puts on a lock is not someone who is against property - its someone who is seizing property for himself.

      • Let's say a friend of mine was having some trouble and I let him move into my house for free until he got his life in order.

But let's also say that this friend began to piss me off for whatever reason (perhaps he was just sitting around doing nothing, freeloading off me with no end in sight. Maybe he was mean to my dog... doesn't matter). I tell him to leave. He refuses and locks himself in the room he's been using.

What are my options here? Ultimately, I'd have no choice but to call the cops and have him thrown out.

I never said they could and obviously they did not since the activists were still occupying until the police went in.

Really ?? I thought the whole idea was that any lefty that wanted to could come on in.

But I guess they had a hierarchy or elite or whatever-- Some people had keys and some did not

              irrelevant

he has still not defended his point about "breaking in" he has pretty much given up on that and hes looking for other arguments to defend his case. the fact that he closed the activist web site is also irrelevant. he has really no clue beyond what he has read and his gut feelings.

I still have a disagreement over whether or not you can take matters into your own hands instead of letting law enforcement take care of it. I'm sure you can not do that in the US.

DUDE, that's what all of us have been arguing with you about in this thread!!

The activists took matters into their own hands and fought the law enforcement!! That's the whole thing!

Further, I still haven't seen anything that backs up this tale of forced entry/assault by the christian group pre-trial.

                        Since

                        1. we have not seen any evidence about this alleged break-in and you lost the link to it or whatever, and

                        2. they did use law enforcement to actually evict the activists

I am not sure what point you are trying to make.

I have seen no one here even try to defend the Christians going in themselves and physically evicting folks

This is funny coming from the guy that defends violent breaking of the law as a necessary means to forward his goals

That is what they attempted to do until the original occupants returned in number and the little sissy ass Christians ran away.

Of course they would not let the Faderhuset in.

Thank you, Flubber, for drawing my attention to this

Kid, I sincerely don't belive that you can relate. A red state gov and a right wing danish gov is two very different things.

I might be wrong, but I think there is a lot religion involved in a red state - that you wont find in the danish RW gov. It's true that we have a christian democrat party, but for the last twenty years they haven't managed to get enough votes to be represented in Folketinget and secondly, they are placed a little to the left of the danish center.

Neither do I think that your red state gov sees mildly on public paid hospitals, social welfare, unions etc. wich is a part of the current danish governments policy.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

yup-- we oppose the activists taking the law into their own hands. I suspect most on my side of the argument would oppose the Christians doing the same. I know I do. Thats why we have laws and police.
