LOTM is just dreadfully boring.

If only it were only this thread.
You're right, this thread should be closed so we can have this discussion in other threads.

Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

It's amazing the number of people who want to be told something that they should already know, if they were intelligent enough.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
I'd be surprised if anyone was taking it seriously.
I participated to see if he would list anyone above himself. We're just having a little fun. Jeeze.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Given it's about perception then no I don't necessarily think you will know. I see this exercise as more about understanding KH's views of people and how you fit in with that view than it is about their actual 'intelligence' whatever that may be defined as.

You should be able to understand his views based on how he ranks other people. Given the development of his list, he's providing >10 times the information specific to other people versus the information that he's providing specific to you.

I know people who are smarter than me. None of them have shown up yet.

Look, im not asking for any threads to be closed. And a certain amount of competive intellectual sparring is par for the course. But the constant "look how smart I am" "im smarter than anyone else" "my field is toughest" "your field is BS" just reeks of profound insecurities. I would generalize from what Kuci said, most intelligent folks who are secure in their self esteem dont go around boasting about it. Its just gotten a bit much lately, is all. I suppose it will pass, but Im not certain.
