The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Oh for ****'s sake. Since it was about the entire Civ series, I put it here instead of CIV general.

CFC gets mentioned and Poly doesn't!

We didn't? We must be more liberal than CFC to not get a mention in the conservative mag. This was the first site I heard about when I was playing Alpha Centauri.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

It is bigger, and it has a more active community, particularly when it comes to modifying the game. The on-topic civ forums here aren't what there once were. AU kinda died, the strat forum is far less active than it was early on (or during CivIII's time) and while Blake's work is great, he's got it on both CFC and 'poly and apparently gets more feedback on CFC.

They also go off on a tangent about how Sid Meier is Lutheran, as opposed to many other game designers they mention who are atheists. It was an odd little aside.

Their comment on AC was essentially that it was not really a success (commercial) but not a failure, either. Damning with faint praise?

on a serious note for a moment... i will ALWAYS be loyal to apolyton, and it IS better in my mind than CFC. The rivalry however, is good for us. makes us stronger and more determined...

When Meier is not playing and testing his products, he spends his time with his wife and 16-year-old son (with whom he enjoys other videogames, like Guitar Hero). He plays keyboards and jams with a band consisting of members from his local church. The band's name is Faith Unlimited. The church he and his wife attend is Lutheran.
                            Sorry, LotM.
