Just vote Hillary and be done with it.

I think the big difference in McCain is the almost entire 180 he has done in nearly all of his policies, especially those that made him popular to begin with.

        (a) Oerdin is boring
        (b) McCain has his finger to the political winds too much to get my vote
        (c) McCain won't get the nomination since he's a weak candidate and a senator
        (d) Oerdin is boring
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I'd probably vote Green before I voted for Hillary.

Has there ever been a Republican that respects the opinion of someone who disagrees with them?

Additional dismissive comments about Oerdin's point

Before the '04 Election season was in full-swing, there was talk of a Kerry-McCain unity ticket and I liked the idea. I would have voted for it, but then I learned just how much of a Bush-licking whore McCain is and just how obscene his flip-flopping really was. It takes time to change one's position on an issue. To "flip-flop" on so many issues in so little time shows that either A) one does not consider one's positions to begin with - showing a lack of intelligence - or B) one is holding positions based on political convenience - showing a lack of integrity. Either way, I do not want that man one heartbeat from preparing my fries at a fast food joint, much less the Presidency.

It wasn't all that obscene when McCain flip-flopped on Roe, or flip-flopped on the Bush tax cuts, or flip-flopped on beefing up public financing of elections. But when he voted to gut habeas corpus, that was stepping way over the line. Being the chief proponent of escalation in Iraq doesn't help either.

This is something that matters to me. The other stuff...

Look, politicians suck. McCain is a politician. Therefore, McCain sucks. The question we will have to answer, as usual, is does he suck less than the other guy/gal?

                              Arrian:

[A spaceship landed on Earth, and a 100 foot tall robot walked out.]

"I come in peace," it said, adding after a long moment of further grinding, "take me to your Lizard."

"It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."

"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"

"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."

"I did," said Ford. "It is."

"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't people get rid of the lizards?"

"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."

"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"

"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."

"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"

"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in."
