There's nothing wrong with a Canadian whisky. They are not the best whiskies in the world, but they are also not the worst. They have their place, as does American bourbon.

when you go to a bar how many of these are on ice? none. the only booze they keep in the well is jaegermeister. the ice you put in the drink is sufficently cold.

I've been keeping these all room temperature but a friend acted like I was crazy to do so?

I have on occasion refrigerated rum (for a few hours), simply because it was so hot in the apartment, I figured that way it wouldn't melt so quickly when we mixed it later with coke and ice. Like KH, I put vodka in the freezer (never tried using the technique to raise the alc content though, I just like it cold.)

Oh, and Jägermeister I haven't had that in a couple months, I must add it to the list for upcoming events

that is what we use canadian whiskey for in the states. the have a lighter nose and a taste that blends well with sodas such as coke and 7 up

I know that you can use them for that, but there are also many Canadian whiskies which are not at all bad drunk straight.
