There are days when I'm incredibly glad I don't eat like a normal student and spend a bit more money on nice food and a bit less on...well, textbooks.

Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Well atm I'm in catered halls, and I don't have any cookers or what not. So microwaveable food is a must...next year I get to live with a group of friends so then I get to use all of my uber cooking skills. You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Then living in a dorm is their first mistake. I actually don't know a single person who lives in the university dorms. (well, ok, I know one person and she is a shining example of what I'm talking about here)Rethink Refuse Reduce Reuse

Many/most colleges in the US require you to spend at least Freshman year in the dorms. It's a great way to meet lots of people that you wouldn't otherwise. It's how I met my college buddies.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Pot noodles have water.
Pretty much any dried food still has a significant portion of its weight in water.APOSTOLNIK BEANIE BERET BICORNE BIRETTA BOATER BONNET BOWLER CAP CAPOTAIN CHADOR COIF CORONET CROWN DO-RAG FEDORA FEZ GALERO HAIRNET HAT HEADSCARF HELMET HENNIN HIJAB HOOD KABUTO KERCHIEF KOLPIK KUFI MITRE MORTARBOARD PERUKE PICKELHAUBE SKULLCAP SOMBRERO SHTREIMEL STAHLHELM STETSON TIARA TOQUE TOUPEE TRICORN TRILBY TURBAN VISOR WIG YARMULKE ZUCCHETTO
