Here, we're not allowed to wear civilian clothes outside of our rooms. We have to wear either our ACU or PT uniform. So pretty much no one wears civilian clothes since you'd have to change to walk to the latrine.

Those 53,000 troops would probably be better off stationed in Florida. That way, we have a quick-reaction force in place to invade Cuba when Castro dies. It'd take a few decades of work, but Cuba would make a nice 51st state (and maybe a 52nd state).

C'mon. You just *know* the thought has crossed Bush's mind at some point.

The lazy bastards would rather enjoy the benefits of being our colony and not have to worry about paying Federal taxes.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Nice to see you, old chap. And in Kuwait, no less. I didn't know exactly if Lancer and you were talking about the same place, but both of you used almost the same words to describe it, so it seemed very likely.

Brachy-Pride makes a point. Cuba would probably ***** terribly for years about wanting to be a state, but when they actually put it up for vote, they'll pull the territory crap again.

Doh, thanks for reminding me to update my location. I've been in Bagdad since mid-December.

Oh, and I can now say I've been in Germany! Was only for 2 hours and I never got to leave the military terminal of the airport, but I was actually in the fatherland.

On a thread related note, there just was an article in tagesschau.de (German news site) http://www.tagesschau.de/aktuell/mel...2_REF1,00.html about protests in Vicenza (Italy). People were complaining about the enlargement of the Vicenza US base. The article writes, that the 173rd Airborne brigade will be concentrated there. At the moment it is spread across Europe in several parts, some of them in Schweinfurt and Bamberg (Germany). The article writes, that among the protestors were not only peace activists, but many simple citizens of Vicenza. Pretty large, too, the police estimate is about 50.000 demonstrants. Sorry, no English link.

Think twice before you go to them belligerent Spaghetti eaters. Better stay in US friendly Bamberg. Well, at leasts here people don't protest, they just don't care.

                    Yeah,
isn´t it better to come to a country where you´re welcome and people will protest than you leave, rather than to a country where the people will protest when you have plans of going there?

And after all, our Beer, Bratwurst, Pretzels and Sauerkraut are much better than that served in Italy
