          Commercial Drivers License-Revisited

I got my CDL-Commercial Drivers License early on, basically a slight step up from the old Chauffeurs License.

Ok, the "spin" on this was you get "One" license and no matter what state you went it was good, you paid the one time fee and there ya go for "X" years.

          Poopey

I got mine in VA while living in Alexandria.

Ok, my wife was transferred with her Finance company back to North Carolina.

OOOPPSS, another $90.00 + because I switched states.

The Federal Govt told the states they had no choice, well they did, either get behind the CDL or lose Federal Highway Funding.

Federal Govt just wanted to generate some massive funding is all

States don't print money. The feds do. It's in the Constitution.

Silly Eurocom question: Those who can't drive, how do they prove their identity?

Why shuold you need to prove your identity?

In fact, you don't have to have a driver's license, and many don't.

Usually, the Departments of Motor Vehicles also issue identity cards.

They pay a nominal fee for an ID card. I had several elderly people hand me state issued cards with the words "Not a driver's license" stamped across it as a cashier.

In all reality, we sort of already have a national identity. That provided by our social security card.

Common forms of ID are these:

                          Birth Certificate
                          Social Security Card
                          Driver's License
                          Identity Card
                          Passport/Visa

Infomation from banks or credit cards can also sometimes be used to determine identifcation.

I do for Tithe and Rent only, and don't need to give ID there.

Normal people. I used to check it on credit and debit transactions as well from time to time. And for ****s and giggles if the person ticked me off, I demanded ID before selling alcohol even if I was pretty sure they were old enough if they annoyed me.
