I've represented quite a few prostitutes, mostly female, a few males, and they are just rather pathetic junkies-10 dollar blow jobs, etc. not evil. They just do what they know, so they can buy crack.

I have a friend who prosecuted a similar case. Cops that ejaculate are called, for obvious reasons, finishers, and well, one time....of course, the tranny took it to a bench trial just to humiliate the cop (who is now either a captain or big in the fop here). resulted in a conviction of course, but s/he had fun with it.

The law in Canada is mucked up since prostitution is not illegal. The arrest comes from "communicating for the purpose of prostitution in a public place." A call girl can ply her trade without breaking the law.

The street girls and johns get arrested for soliciting.
The pimps and agencies get nailed for "living off the avails of prostitution", "keeping a common bawdy house " (ie parlours) or procuring . None of these charges apply to a girl that does outcall visits to hotels and books the dates herself.

As a legal point I have often wondered if the websites could be considered a communication in public but the problems would include

1. proving who actually made the communication-- IF the girl that answers the phone said she didn't do the website how could you charge her
2. most websites disclaim prostitution and claim that fees are for "time only and that nothing else is contracted for"

Yeah, but maybe she felt safe because he was a virgin, and wanted to give him that little bit of extra pleasure for his dying wish. Of course, she would have to be on some kind of birth control in order for it to be risk-free for her.

I know a fair bit about the law on prostitution in Canada ( I did a small paper in law school and still follow it because our laws are a bit weird) and most of the rest on the Calgary scene is gleaned from newspapers. The notable exception is that the high end "stroll" was between where I used to work and the bus stop. I am now a couple blocks further away but I am not hostile to the idea of ogling the young hotties. I generally have no reason to travel the 5-10 minutes drive to where the other hooker regions are but the local paper did a 4 or 5 part in depth report about it.

The wealth of Calgary is a factor. I have seen stories about street girls moving from Vancouver here to Calgary. Apparently the calgary street prices are higher than Vancouver as there are a LOT more girls in Vancouver.
