Erasmus is great if you want to party, and to progress in the language. But you won't be doing any meaningful work under Erasmus: the aim of the programme isn't to teach academia to students, but to broaden young people's horizons.

Exactly, and that is for people who are unable to do it in their own free time. Which is sad to begin with. Besides, you get all these 'friendship' schools, meaning they are not known for their high results.
