Personally, I'd rather we introduce hard labour camps in the NWT over the death penalty -- Rura Penthe style.

This thread title could have been great but instead it is simply bland. Check out CG to see how it could have been done.

If I wanted a bland title, I could've gone with "Oerdin gives love tips" or "Oerdin explains the secret to TV infomercial success". Instead I went for a substantive title.

                    Short answer?

The prosecutor asks the court to order an assessment.

Assessment is completed and judge determines.

No. Justice is usually meted out on the basis of crimes already committed, not pending the likelyhood of future crimes.

Of course, this all depends on how highly you value said justice over the need to nurse and cuddle up to the poor criminal and his modest hopes for a happy and joyful future.

Crimes already commited are relevant because they can help to determine the likelyhood of future crimes, Winnie.

NO plea deal because I imagine that the Crown would not agree to anything less than him spending all his remaining days behind bars. Since that is EXACTLY what he would would get if found guilty, I don't see what the Crown could offer for a guilty plea

Also I think its smart that they only charge 6 at one time. THis way, if he walks on some stupid technicality, they can always charge him on some of the other 43.
