      I haven't actually seen the movie, but I read somewhere that the soldiers shouldn't have been of the Latin-speaking variety.

                          I won't argue with that. I enjoyed Sin City, so if I can stop myself from getting angry because I think I'm so intellectually superior for knowing there weren't a million Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae, I'll probably enjoy 300, too.

                              I do not look to Hollywood for historical accuracy, I'm just interested if it makes a good story. And the story from a historical standpoint has a lot of potential.

                              I've been looking forward to it ever since my son forwarded the link to me a few months ago - the visual style looks very cool. I'd compare it to Hero. Taking a historical event and mythologizing the hell out of it.

                              Very over-the-top - in a good way.
