  • Is Your Cell Phone Very Important To You

The other day I lost my cell phone at work. I went without it for a day and a half and I absolutely hated it. It wasn't too long ago that I didn't have one and thought those that said they needed one were weak. Something else I noticed while mine was missing, is that everyone seems to have one these days. Kids have them, old people have them, men and women.

    Do you need your cell?
Do you control it or does it control you?

My favorite new toy is my bluetooh adapter for my laptop. Now I can make my own ringtones, transfer pictures to use as wallpaper.

Yes I knew that. But I'm not fond of cables. Now answer the question

I like the convenience of having a cell phone. I don't have to plan ahead as much as I used to. My phone runs Windows, so I got a copy of Pocket Streets & Trips. Now I have maps to every major city in North America on my phone.

It gives me a lot more flexibility, since I'm always in contact.

Calendar function is great, I'd never remember any dates otherwise. (Eh, not "dates", unfortunately...)

And you can fit plenty of stuff on a 2gig mem card.

Without my phone in easy reach, I start to lose the ability to function as a person. Its my 21st century equivelent of a security blanket.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

I hate being sans cell phone. Considering it is also my only phone (well, aside from the work phone), it is essential in planning anything.

I've had to eat a lot of crow over my cell phone because I have been so critical of people in the past about needing one.

Also, payphones have nearly dissapeared because of them except in airports and similar places.

I primarily use my mobile for texting and for listening to music. Not many phone calls usually.
