Wait a minute! I just noticed this paragraph:

The ACLU, which filed the suit in federal court in December, calls the zero tolerance policy inconsistent. It points out that the school's mascot, a patriot, is sometimes shown carrying a weapon.
The school seems to be unclear what "zero tolerance" means.

Sorry, Zkrib, but that's Early Modern English at best. Middle English is what Chaucer spoke. "Ycare nat a rattes ers" would be closer, but probably not quite.

While I've most definitely never been to an SCA event, I'd wager the standards of your average medieval wench aren't very high.

This isn't about a country that allows the existence of NRA. It's about a country in which spurious litigation has made everybody so frightened of execising judgment and common sense that they end up coming up with boneheaded "neutral" policies that require no independent thought but end up conflating real guns with pictures of swords, or tabs of acid with aspirin capsules.

Cool avater, Rufus; I wouldn't mind seeing Teddy in the Oval Office again, either. I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two...

No offence, but this is about a country that allows general armorment and can't control it.

If you want common people including criminals to be alloewd to carry weapons, that is of corse your choice, but then you also have to accept all those killings of random victims that you have.

Some say that it isn't guns that kill, but people, well, if people doesn't have acces to guns, oh horror killings may decrease
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

he looks rather dashing in that chainmail hood. i personally know at least half a dozen ladies of negotiable virtue that would gladly ravage him.

I think he looks more "gay" than "dashing", but let's not quibble. Both qualities attract the ladies, especially those whose only other option is hairy 300 pounders who haven't bathed in months due to concerns about "authenticity"...

Spurious litigation indeed Apparently the Simpsons have gotten a lot more mellow over the years primarily not because of actual laws, but because people sue over stupid things that are legal, but it just costs too much money to fight even frivolous lawsuits, and the money is too hard to recover, so they just stay further and further away from anything litigable...

If I were the school, I would quietly ammend the policy to be a zero tolerance policy banning projectile weapons. I mean... how much of the school violence in America is caused using swords I can see not wanting guns though.
