their are several sights that simply have absolutly no buisness being ranked above Poly.

For example THIS PAGE Hasn't been updated sinse 1997 and has no information past Civ II and is right after CFC

And THIS PAGE Is nothing more then a collection of patches riped off from Fixais, a few very out of date mods and some boiler plate news items that date from the release of Civ4. The only thing it has going for it is the domain name which is being utterly wasted by a site this pathetic.

I though Googles algorithms were more sophisticated then this As the most important Civilization site in all of Civdom this is intolerable, their must be an effort to bump ouselves to the first page.

its all OTs fault. all the OT topics have made this site less civ related! we need to post more threads such as "wHiCh LeaDaR iS t3h sExiEst iN ciV4?"

as for not recognizing vets, i noticed after years of not foruming in other places, lots of ppl change handles, but i was referring to overall trafficking in poly. lot less posting in OT was wat i was

Ok I did some searching and I have a plan.

Apolyton.com has a Google Page rank of 5, CFC is 6, Firaxis and 2kgames are 7's. I think the problem is that our rank is being diluted by apolyton.net which is also ranked at 5. Most importantly the 2kgames has links to Apolyton.net rather then .com. CFC on the other hand has one consistent link everyware its linked too so its strength is undiluted. If we could get these high ranking pages to all point to Apolyton.com rather then .net it might be sufficient to propell us to a 6 and achive parity with CFC, we would then shoot up to well within the first page.

I think site admins should ceriosly consider aking Firaxis and 2k to update their sites.

I found the page ranks and dat about the links google is using to rank us at this page http://www.searchengineengine.com/ just enter Apolton.com and generate the ranking, think click the link to get an XML doc containing the links. CFC has incoming links from rank 7 pages ware Apoltyon dose not.
