Floyd's a stain on libertarianism that can only work if men behave morally. A clear indication why libertarisnism or any quasi-religious political affiliation fails when people fail to live morally but live for personal gain.

This from a person who generally supports libertarian principles.

This has little to do with libertarianism. The important aim is at shooting the government structures down, and keeping the house clean, effective and out of our business.

If an individual shoudl commit crimes, they are still subjected to the same penalties as now. In case DF is in fact guilty of fraud, he would be still handled the same way as in any other system.

If a person would attack another person, you can't say 'well libertarianism is a bad idea because this can happen'. No, that's exactly what it is against, people butting in other people's business. It's the fault of the individual.

This is the socialist claim, and I'm glad so many are with it, that somehow, for example greed is a trait of some political system. Duh? People are greedy, or some people are, it has nothing to do with socialism, capitalism, or what have you. Also, libertarianism does nto encourage theft etc. It just simply has nothing to do with that, so I'm also glad everyone is totally missing this thing... individualism does not mean EVERYTHING TO ME NOW SCREW TEH REST!!!!

          What are you? ****ing commies?

No it is about libertarianism becasue it asumes that for libertariansism to work people will behave morally and look to not cause harm to others. That commerce takes place in a consentual set of agreements. Fraud is a perpertration of harm and shows that moral behavior is not necessarily implicit in human beings. To that extent pure libertariansim (as David among all posters has been the most vocal advocate) has to be tempered with checks to prevent rampant me-ism.

Despite any technical defenses he otherwise might state he willingly and knowingly attempted to defraud Walmart by implication or otherwise. Any claim otherwise is negated in his threads first sentence.

Let me start by saying that I screwed Walmart out of a brand new IPOD.
Indicating he knew full well he was not entering into a fair (if legal) exchange.

              AS for the following

Were it not for crimes of individuals police powers would not be granted to the government by the will of the majority of people to prevent said crimes. A few bad apples spoiling it for the rest of us and all that jazz....

As much as I hate Walmart, they serve a good purpose. Poor mexicans in my city need a cheap place to shop.

Walmart is a leech on the back of local communities. Putting honest hard working people out of business and selling crap made in China. Just like any big business they don´t give a damn about anyone else but themselves and their stock holders. So I say to hell with them and to hell with lutheran moral code. So they lost one iPod, big deal. They can afford it.

Blacksmiths were honest and hard-working too.
