  • Chavez once again porves he's a tin pot dictator in the making.

That is if you assume he isn't one already via rigged elections.

Highlights of Chavez's new moves include giving himself the power to rule by decree, eliminating the autonomy of the central bank, nationalizing the utility companies, and nationalizing any remaining oil fields which haven't been nationalized yet (just a few years ago he was begging for outsiders to help modernize and now he's stealing it all). Chavez has declared that the Constitution of the country is completely wrong and will need to be "revised" yet again to make it more the Chavez's personal liking (he's already rewritten it twice in the past to give himself more power and gerrymander election districts to keep his party in power).

Chavez hasn't declared exactly how he wants to modify the constitution this time however just about everyone believes Chavez is going to remove all term limits thus allowing himself to remain as President for as long as he likes. The man is a fool and so are anyone who believes he won't wreck his country.

What ever you opinion of him is a man capable of taking over a country by means fair or foul isn't a fool, I think the word your looking for is Megalomaniacs.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

Yeah, that's likely a better term.

And, after having totally usurped power and dismissed congress, deferred all future elections and nationalized everything, if he is overthrown the commies will complain that we don't respect democracy.

Chavez has done a lot of stupid things, these acts among them. But he is being kept in power by paying off the underclass. For Venezuela, unfortunately, that is not bad politics.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
