Driving is good, far more comfortable and direct than public transport, and aircon keeps you cool in the summer

Yes, I will be glad come July when finally smoking will be banned in all public places in this country. Including bars

what was it, 42k people killed on americas roads last year alone? with increasing pedestrian fatalities. 2nd hand smoking has a long long way to go to catch up with the instant death meted out on innocent bystanders by tons of metal propelled about the place. All so the drivers can sit in comfort and dont have to live to near their work That should help put this other physically addictive, non instantly lethal bad habit in perspective.

I work in Dartford. Would you want to live near there?

I enjoy taking peoples tabs from them and putting them out on their arms. Since i don't have a heroin addiction where i can stab them with my used needles i feel its the only way i can maintain my karma.

Cars serve a purpose. Transportation. In my case, I need my car to make a living. Without it, I'd starve to death. You say I could work at the local mcdonald's, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to get a job at mcdonald's. I was turned down when I was a teenager.

smoking has no purpose. I was not impressed by nicotine. It did not give me the "kick" I expected. I'll stick to caffeine. Caffeine.
that's silly. People should be free to determine what "purpose" serves them well. Cigarette serves a purpose to those who enjoy smoking.

Yeah smoking will kill 50% of the people who smoke, but these are people who have been smoking for a long time, and have time to make their choices and do something about it or not. You do not get to choose to not be injured or killed by someone elses car.

I dont think you will find figures for death by 2nd hand smoking, merely that there is a link, and again this is 2nd hand smoking over time. Death by car is instant and indiscriminate, cutting innocent pedestrians and motorists down at any stage of their life

Then dont work in Dartford or get the train from Erith, or Belvedere, Woolwich etc Dartford is a bad example of somewhere hard to commute to because its so easy to get to by train from that area of the suburbs

Yeah you do, stay away from all roads, just as non smokers have to stay away from just about everything else to have the choice of not suffering second hand smoke.

I support smokers and fat people.

There are too many stupid *******s on this planet already. If more of them want to kill themselves off by eating or smoking themselves to death, I support their right to want to do it. I have the choice of not going to the privately owned businesses (open to the public) where they engage in their activities.

That choice is exactly the same as my choice to not smoke or not eat disgusting food.

Smokers do not contribute to my health in a negative way because I don't go to restaurants or bars that allow smoking.

Fat people do affect me in a negative way, however, because they cost they place an extra burden on the health care system. I don't know exact figures off the top of my head. I wrote a report last semester and I recall conservative estimates regarding the cost of obesity to the economy were put around $70-$100 billion.

But again... it's their choice and I don't know how much that figure actually affects me. Would our healthcare system be better if tons of obese people weren't obese? I dunno. But then I suppose we'd have a more competitive society and that would make things tougher.

At least when I'm around a lot of smoked out whales, suddenly I look a whole lot more attractive (relatively speaking).

Yeah and? Do you want to ban cars or reduce the speed limit to 10mph in an eye for an eye approach to people having to lose a pointless hobby which would solve the latter ?
