Animals are taken to facilities for aged and infirmed to visit. Animals aren't a blow off, or shouldn't be anyway.
They add a lot to quality of life.

Right, right.. well, it seems to me, that you're feelings are working as deception, because there intellectually this would make no sense, and you are on top of it. So, if the feelings and emotions, as deceptive, strong enough, well you need to conquer that. I don't know, maybe it's purely some chemical balance thing? I really don't know, though this is pretty common thing people have. I'm sure professional help will at least be able to determine what the issue is, even if that's all they could do.. but they can do at least that much for sure so.. it might be worth the effort.

I think I have some of the same feelings at times, Richelieu. Well, at least so far as not being interested in making freinds, or communicating with people. Although, at other times I can be highly social.

I'm sorry to burst the bubble... but I've never owned a cat. Though my friends have had one. Did I start a thread about my friend's cat dying? I'm not sure if I did.

Though I do thank you for the sentiment, even if it should be directed elsewhere .

And nice to know that you got some of that "community" feeling .

Now this is too funny. I'm not sure what to say about this. I seem to be remembering Imran making some kind of cat thread as well. Too bad everything has been deleted. I don't think we have anything prior to 2005.

It could have been about my (at the time) girlfriend's cat dying, come to think of it. She only had him for like a month and he got sick and died.

Irine sounds like a good friend. After all she didn't give up on you even after you gave up on yourself. That's real friendship. Don't abuse it or ignore it.

Richeliu, hey no problem. This seems rather interesting to me though. What I see is a case where usually intelligent people fall into a trap, that is, a huge analysis on themselves. And I just don't know a simple case where that has ever lead to any positive thoughts as a result

But you should know, that this is fairly common, so there's lots of people out there with same type of stuff going on. You've tried to crack this thing, and you've gotten into a crossing, where you can't solve it, but you've gone further than some, and that is that you can not find a good answer to these feelings you have, so intellectually you have already conquered some steps. You know, some people would rather believe these feelings to be true, as in, they must be losers and stuff like that, and too stupid to be otherwise.

You might feel down, but you know there's something you can't get a hold of, why your feelings are acting up this way.

Just do me a favour, don't do what some people do and go find answers in weird places, like drugs, marginal religions (or even big ones), cuckoo philosophies etc. These people change their set of thoughts every other week and they are intense about it all the time. The seekers who never stop seeking, but seems to be unhappy at all times.

I can't help you, but you just have to come terms with yourself and the seek you are on.. about who you are, how it relates to things around you etc... most people don't think about this stuff actively. As in, who are you? Well I'm RIcheliu, x years old, I can do this and this. That's what most people will give you, but you can't define yourself by this terms. Because is that who you really are? An assocation to, perhaps, a profession? An age? And a name? Those are just ID tags on you. So.. the question remains.. who are you?

Other people seems to be quite happy with the ID tag and association to a profession, and that's it, so why can't you? This question is boiling in your head.

These are very interesting questions, but what's fighting you is these negative feelings, so for example where I'm happy thinking about these things, on a journey, you get negative feelings for some reason and they tend to dominate, so there's a fundamental difference. It really might be something physiological too.

Don't be stigmatized by seeking some help. It only means you want to do something about it. most people keep sitting home and be all upset about these things. So you're already ahead in many aspects, and as such, you should have great chances of being able to get your feelings and emotions into check, where they come in play when the time and situation is right, and nto just randomly and dominate.
