a. The problem with renouncing violence, is that many of the forces within Palestine want Israel's complete elimination and the int'l community will not acquiece to that.
b. Gandhi was truly an exceptional human being but him and Nehru screwed up India (Gandhi especially with his naivete appeasing the Muslims in India). Another, more interesting leader for India in Civ would be Subashchandra Bose, who had he not died while negotiating with the Japonese in WWII to liberate India from the Brits, may have steered India in a completely different direction...May it come that all the Radiances will be known as ones own radiancesComment

If the Palestinians hadn't embraced terrorism and had used nonviolent means to reach their goals then they'd have had their own state decades ago and their economy would likely be much better off. As long as the Palestinian agenda ultimately includes the destruction of Israel then any notion of non-violence is a non-starter. Both Hamas and Fatah have this aim (of destruction) as far as I can see.Comment
