I went to see the fireworks in London (and the associated ordeal in trying to get back - actually it wouldn't have taken me that much longer if I'd have walked home!) and I find it a very strange occasion. Everyone always seems so excited about it, about how they are going to celebrate another year and the end of a new one and be merry with everyone. But on the way home, the number of red eyes was incredible...the number of people crying and blubbering to their other halves. Looks like they had a real fun night, and probably a damn expensive one too...

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I resolve to make fun of geocentrists and creationists at least once a year. I know for a fact that I won't break that resolution.

              no offense. But die.

can't I be hopeful for one day of the year? I promise to be hopeless for the other 364 days of the year.

You know I might join you in that, although geocentrists are pretty hard to find nowadays!

We could have popped up Primrose Hill at midnight to watch the fireworks from the grandstand, but we stayed in the restaurant down on Regent's Park Road enjoying the live Russian music. Some of our fellow diners went to watch.

The previous night we watched Riders on a Storm (Manzarek & Krieger from The Doors) at the Roundhouse. A great new year.

It must be people realising just how much they are paying in rent/mortgage

So what keeps you so cheerful at New Year. The thought of rolling Panzers over peaceloving neighbours again?

Funny we're talking about New Year's parties and resolutions and all you can think of is the "insane!" price level in your country.

Peaceloving? IT's the Poles who're rattling sabres these days. Little they know that we stashed away some big ones...
