Obviously-- and personally I usually do. BUt if I pop into the convenience store for a second, I probably wouldn't bother.

The question is whether the store would require me to do so. At the local conveneince store, there can be literally dozens of face-covered folks walking in and out every few minutes so from a practical point of view the conveneince store will never bother

In a Canadian jewelry store, I wouldn't object if taking off face covering was a requirement. Although as I said, everything of value is out of reach anyway so the only purpose of covering your face is a blatant robbery attempt

There was a similar problem with passports right after 9/11. It was held that a woman wanting a U.S. passport couldn't have her picture taken while wearing a burka.

Hm, it would sound like a srange means of identification,
to identify a person whose passport just shows someone covered with a Burka.

        Lets see:

        Officer: Passport
Women wearing a Burka gives him her passport
Officer: That isn´t your passport. The women on the passport is wearing a blue Burka with gold trimmings, but you are wearing a red Burka with silver trimmings.

Errrr, how much is "Rs three lakh" and "Rs four lakh" for those of us not conversant in Hindi or Gujrati or whatever language that may be?

          I see here that USD1 = INR45, so unless "lakh" is 100,000+ a loss of 3 or 4 "lakh" isn't huge.

A lakh is exactly Rs. 1,00,000. Good guess, though.

It is descended from the old language's system of measuring magnitudes in powers of 10.

Well, it couldn't be a million and 10k was still too small.

It makes sense to have a separate word for ten thousand and hundred thousand. "Myriad" means 10k, but that is an archaic use that would confuse the average reader rather than enlighten. I know of no word for 100k.

Old Indian language. It's still in use in India, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

it's nothing out of the ordinary, some shops/bars here don’t allow people in baseball caps or hoodies in for security reasons.

don't see anything wrong with such restrictions myself, it's their business after all. though of course i would be against similar measures in public buildings.
