A while ago, a death row inmate in Arkansas tried to appeal his conviction or at least get the method of execution changed since he claimed the lethal injection makes you feel searing pain for the second before you die. I think he had something to his case, but I don't think he won.meet the new boss, same as the old boss

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.THEY!!111 OMG WTF LOL LET DA NOMADS AND TEH S3D3NTARY PEOPLA BOTH MAEK BITER AXP3REINCES

I think the interesting trade off is between leaving a pretty body and pain.
If I should have my head blown off.. no pain, but no pretty body. Should I take lethal injection, pretty body, lots of pain.
So, an obvious choice would be to get something that leaves a pretty body and least amount of pain. Firing squad, through the heart, thank you. Instant death, pretty body, niceeee...In da butt.

curies is a little different since it measures the radioactivity of a substance. We mainly used it for radioactive sources (used to calibrate radiacs). In the navy we used REM. Don't forget the other one- rontgens. I forget what a sievert is, we never used them.
So you wouldn't use curies to determine the radiation coming from a nuclear reactor. A cury is something that measures radioactivity in decays per second. Where as to measure a reactor we used REM. or Rontgen equivalent man. It combines the rontgen measurement with the effects on man. Basically it was understood that 1000 REM would kill you.. Over the course of my navy career I recieved almost 700 millirem. This is only gamma radiation. Our TLD's don't measure neutron radiation (though not much is released outside the secondary shield).
And checking wiki, there is now a new unit of radioactivity.. The Becquerel. Can't these scientists make up their minds? How dare they diminish the memory of Madam Curie.

But it would take much longer than a "1/2 hour."
It's kind of messy that way.. And the death penalty execution is seen by journalists and victim's families. So perhaps it's a little to messy for them.
