I think the final market data will show Sony getting PWNED. The darn things are just too expensive.

The fact that it takes 7 hours to sell 1000 across North America is pretty terrible.Originally posted by MarkG

Amazon.com's equivalent sale of the 1,000 Xbox 360 (Core units, even) sold out within something like 16 seconds."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

No, you don't get what you pay for. There's no games for the PS3, at least no good ones.Originally posted by Wiglaf
Xbox 360 = $400. Sony is $500. THERE IS NOT THAT BIG A PRICE DIFFERENCE IDIOTS
ONE HAS A BLU RAY PLAYER,
THE OTHER BREAKS IN 3 MONTHS
DO THE MATH U GET WHAT U PAY FOR ASHER
And you can play games on the 360 at $299, cheapest PS3 is $499 for games.
Xbox 360 w/ HD DVD is still $499 with more games, and better games.
They're priced comparatively, with the notable exception that Sony does not permit the user choice. Most gamers have no need for an HD DVD or Bluray drive, and thus do not need to spend two hundred more dollars on one. Those that do, can have it on the 360.
The 360 is also a better product from a technical perspective for games, which is why Xbox 360 games almost universally look better on the 360 despite the year longer development time on the PS3.

Still, if the PS3s were in as much demand as people would have you believe...1,000 available in North America at MSRP (at a time when ebay prices are enormous) took a LONG time to sell through.Originally posted by Wiglaf
Asher those 360s were offered for $100.

I think the problem is that Futureshop isn't that popular or well known.Still, if the PS3s were in as much demand as people would have you believe...1,000 available in North America at MSRP (at a time when ebay prices are enormous) took a LONG time to sell through.
Also: no one buys the core. need the hard drive.

Of course, but the trend is obvious.
Check out IGN.com...more Japanese-exclusive developers are jumping to the 360 as well as PS3's price is reducing its volume, which means the games need to sell more to turn a profit...on other consoles.
The 360 is cheaper and the trend is accelerating towards multiplatform games. Since the PS3's hardware is so unique and unwieldy, it will get the shaft in these multiplatform versions just like the PS2 did in comparison to the Xbox."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Future Shop = Best Buy. They're the same company with a different logo and brand.Originally posted by Wiglaf
I think the problem is that Futureshop isn't that popular or well known.
They're very popular in Canada and news of the availability was spread across all kinds of gaming forums pretty much instantaneously (IGN, Gamespot, Digg, etc).
Why do you need it?Also: no one buys the core. need the hard drive.

Lose backward compatability . Also get shafted - $35 for 64 mb vs. $100 for 20 gb.Why do you need it?
Can use a memory card.
I read an article recently that PS3 supply is actually starting to exceed demand, so this might not be an anomaly. I'll link it in a sec. They're very popular in Canada and news of the availability was spread across all kinds of gaming forums pretty much instantaneously (IGN, Gamespot, Digg, etc).
