It's an interesting question and very hard (but worthwhile) to think about it in a context that deconfounds the nature of current relations or "what would need to be done to have good relations".
Countries that come to mind:
Large Borders
Canada
Mexico
Significant commercial scope
China
Japan
Germany
Military concerns
Russia
China
Other issues:
Saudi Arabia (oil and Mecca/Medina holders)
Kuwait (or other Gulf Nations): as footholds in the region

It depends on what you mean. But if it came down to who would the US be prepared to go war for I would guess UK and Canada.Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

I doubt the US would go to war for the interests of the UK. There would have to be a direct reason affecting the US for the US to enter, not simply standing up to bat for the UK. (I can see the pretext of helping 'the Brits' being used of course).Originally posted by TheStinger

Japan. Came down to the UK and Japan for me, as they're the most vital allies the US has in Europe and Asia, respectively. Asia is the more important region now, though, so Japan gets the nod.KH FOR OWNER!
