A more logical explanation is clearly Nature's harmonic simultaneous 4-day time cube.

And from wiki...
In general, cosmologists consider classical tired light models to have too many problems to be worth serious consideration, e.g. [13]. Tired light alone does not provide a full cosmological explanation and so cannot reproduce all the successes of the standard big bang cosmology. No tired light theory is known that by itself correctly accounts for the observed time dilation of distant supernovae light curves [14], the black body spectrum or anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background, and the observed change in the morphology, number count, and surface brightness of high redshift galaxies and quasars. Furthermore, the fact that the age of the oldest stars is roughly equal to the inverse of the Hubble constant emerges naturally from a Big Bang cosmology, but is an unexplained coincidence with most tired light models."

I'm glad I'm a biochemist and we just play God instead of having to explain Him like the physicists do.Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

BTW, doesn't Einstein's General Theory already predict that light will undergo a redshift as it passes through space-time?http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

Here is another article that asks why expelled objects from galaxies have much greater redshifts than the parent galaxy. He suggests that one explanation could be that redshifts could be associated with age, with younger matter having greater redshifts. The suggestion is that fundamental particles acquire mass over time.
Still another article (don't have a link now) suggests that as time progresses, gravity is reduced. If this is caused by a reduction in mass, then that would seem to be the exact opposite of the preceding theory because as time progressed, there would be redshift. This would help explain why older galaxies are redshifted, but would not explain why ejected (new) matter has greater redshifting that older matter.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en
