Congrats and welcome to the world of academia. It's all up to you know, you will have all the resources and support. Take advantage of it. There are two types of bitter people about higher learning: those who changed their minds later when they didn't want to go for it and those who went for it but didn't take the advantage of it, just wandered around and.. acquired a degree.

I probably don't want to go into uber-math. I'm a really fast problem-solver, but I'm not good at the theoretical stuff. That probably suits me to something a little more applied. I'm definitely not going for the PhD track in Math.
I probably just want to get a nice, serviceable undergrad degree in something Econ-like, and go immediately into the workforce. (This works in America if you've got really highly regarded undergraduate school)

Jaguar, so it's official for you? Nice man Congrats! Seems to me we are getting good news from this kind of field all the time
But about what you're going to be.. if you know now, great. I've changed my ambition for few times, but I'm on the right track now myself. Then again, it was always the same field so no radical changes.
Just letting you know, that you might do little calibrating there. Follow your heart. Always analyze it though, but if it seems like a good thing to do, follow your heart in what ever field you want to take or move into. Life is too short to have regrets like that later on, and we can't take the money when we die anyway.
Also, a fact is, that when you have now reached this important milestone, getting independent, starting your own reaching, you are one step closer to death than you were before this milestone. That's what milestones are all about. Last milestone = checking out.In da butt.

Jaguar, and if you do business, dude, let me check you out later, OK? I think I might go to the research field for couple fo years, just to get my PhD and research this issue that is of great interest to me (since I can't read an existing study, have to do it myself then), and if everything goes as planned, it should have some value. So, when I need to get out there, hook me up why don't you.. I don't see a reason why we all shouldn't get filthy rich.In da butt.
