It's generally a good idea to want to study something before deciding to go to school.

Any Yalie Polytubbies, past or present?

I hear in less than 18 hours.

It's totally sweet and my sister went there and she's totally sweet.

I dunno. Econ? Maybe Physics, Biology, Hispanic Studies, or Music. I'm pretty good at most stuff, and I don't have a strong preference yet, so I took a well-rounded place.

Oh, I had a bunch of proofs to do for tomorrow, and I thought of giving you a crack at them, but when I actually got around to looking at them, they were all too easy and I thought asking you about them would just be insulting.

You shouldn't PM me stuff. I never check my PMs.

Just start a thread and after the question gets answered it will turn into a math thread.

I don't know anything about US undergrad stuff, but Yale doesn't have a reputation in physics or math for graduate work.

Soon enough you'll be doing actual math.

Real Analysis and Algebra are the first good math courses...

You don't get to do any real physics courses unless you actually take physics, though.

                          a) That's a crappy source since the data is from 1994 (I know, because I looked at it when deciding on graduate schools)

                          b) IIRC it ranks Yale pretty low according to most measures

I probably don't want to go into uber-math. I'm a really fast problem-solver, but I'm not good at the theoretical stuff. That probably suits me to something a little more applied. I'm definitely not going for the PhD track in Math.

I probably just want to get a nice, serviceable undergrad degree in something Econ-like, and go immediately into the workforce. (This works in America if you've got really highly regarded undergraduate school)

I would have liked to have gone there, and I suppose I still could transfer there, it is just easier to go to UNT since a.) I already live by it, and b.) have to pay for everything myself, so moving to St. Louis (or anywhere) is impractical ATM.

                              Good luck

It depends. Employers who know what they are doing will actually interview the person and pay little attention to what school they went to.

Some of the dumbest ****ing people in the world go to the best schools.
