Who cares about the federal Liberals, anyway?

      Down with Ted Morton!!!

I have no clue who the **** I'm going to vote for next general election.

          Conservatives: no
          Liberals: puke
          Bloc: **** no
NDP: can't vote for them next time. Pussying out on Afghanistan is too much for me.
Green: why should I vote for them? I don't give a **** about their major platform plank, and the rest of their platform is pretty weak.

I could vote Conservative, Green, or Liberal depending on the candidates they put up for me. The NDP could get a vote if they managed to put Christ up as a candidate in my riding.

Lowering the bar a little for the NDP, I could see myself voting for Ed Broadbent as an MP. Unfortunately they can't run Ed in all the ridings.

Ignatieff's speech was fascinating to me in its treatment of my country. I always want to see more of how the US is discussed in the political discourse of other countries.

Okay, sorry for the derail, continue in Canadian-ness.

No way, no how would a majority of Albertans be in favour of an ex NDP premeir of Ontario who ****ed things up royally as the PM in waiting.

Oh, and Harper doesn't need urban Ontario. He didn't need Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver last time. As long as things hold in Quebec, urban Ontario can kiss its influence goodbye.

                      What hasn't he done?
GST - Yes, he cut it by 1% then did nothing to ensure it was passed on by lower levels of government. Well done. Also, simultaneously RAISED the lowest tax bracket from 16% to 16.5%. Net loss.

FAA - The federal accountability commissioner claims this Act will make the Federal government LESS accountable. Kind of like the "Clean Air Act" - Call it one thing when it is actually the opposite.

Tough on Crime - Nothing passed and not likely to. W/O consultation with others in parliament this is just political grandstanding.

Child Care - Granted. He did do this.

Talking w/ Provinces - As with Gun crime - keep talking.

What hasn't he done? Delivered government differently (as was also promised). He is the same old same old I have come to expect in Cdn politics.

I'm a conservative but Flaherty screwed this up, royally. Telus and BCE had to apply to have their tax status changed from that of being a corporation to that of being an income trust and all the government had to do was just say "No". They didn't need to use a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

                          Ignatieff is from your country.

It appears the poll was by region, not province. Albertans will vote Conservative no doubt.

They haven't held in Quebec. Conservative support has evaporated in the province.

I heard on the radio this AM that the conservatives put out some communique thanking whoever is going to be elected leader of the Libs for keeping Justin Trudeau's chair warm.
                                What?
