Dude, I don't know what kind of school you went to, or what neighborhood you grew up in, but if I'd wanted drugs in HS I'd have had no idea whom to go to. Certainly it'd be a hell of a lot easier to get booze or cigarettes than crack, pot or heroin.

Are you serious, Elok? Fine, crack and heroin takes a bit more effort but weed? ****, man, it's easier to get weed than cigarettes when you're underaged! Cigarettes are hard for kids to get because they either need to know someone who's an adult and willing to buy it for them or they steal them. Weed though is everywhere.

presumably you didn't know because you had no interest. if you'd really wanted to find drugs, you would have figured out how. i'm guessing that there were kids in your high school who did want to find drugs, and they were successful in doing so, no?
do a little thought experiment: imagine you really want to find some drugs now. you're not stupid, so i'm sure that within a short time, you'd come up with a pretty decent plan of how you would go about it."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

Actually, no, I haven't the slightest idea. I assume going to the shadiest-looking place I can think of and asking around will yield bupkus and possibly get me talking to an undercover cop. Going online and asking for drugs sounds like a great way to either get abducted and murdered or buy a bag of flour laced with rat poison. In high school, I imagine I could have put out lame conversational "feelers" asking friends if they knew somebody, but that's not a guarantee of success and the way high-schoolers talk, the odds of a school authority catching word would rise exponentially with every person I asked. I probably could have acquired pot in college, but that's because pot genuinely was "everywhere" in college. Actually, no, I think there was one girl in HS whom I heard smoked pot, but we didn't get along. Still, I guess I could have gotten pot if I really tried.
If I wanted cigarettes as a teen for some insane reason, I'd look for a random guy smoking somewhere and offer him a little extra if he'd buy me some cigarettes. Odds are he'd say "screw off, you little thug," but I doubt he'd bother trying to rat on me and it wouldn't stick if he did. A bit bothersome to keep asking, but not dangerous.

Dude, no one can be as square as the image you're attempting to portray of yourself...

No, I haven't the slightest idea howTF I would get drugs. It would certainly be easier and safer to get cigarettes or booze underage than drugs. Actually, my parents introduced me to alcohol when I was nine--I regularly had a glass of wine with dinner when company came, so I had no desire to spend cash to swill cheap beer--but if I wanted to, it doesn't sound hard.

Wow Elok
I don't even know where to begin. Did you grow up in a 1950's sitcom? Like seriously. You've got to be exaggerating or joking."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

i would suggest that you're not thinking hard enough about it. although i may be underestimating how difficult it is for someone who doesn't have and has never had (i assume here, correct me if i'm wrong) an interest in drugs, to think in that way.
and while of course, you're going to know more about your high school than me, i find it a bit hard to believe (this is british understatement btw) that there was only 'one girl who smoked pot' in your school."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

Oh, I'm sure there were others, it's just the one that I knew of from disparaging comments made by friends. Presumptively if I were interested in damaging my brain I'd be more involved with people of similar sympathies. And yeah, I think it's stupid to bother with anything as dangerous as crack when there's good old alcohol around.

Okay, I'll yield to everybody else's apparently superior knowledge on the issue. But now I'm sort of curious, how do kids get drugs? Just asking around seems risky.

Older kids standing at the school gates as you leave for home - certainly at my school anyway...
Once you've tapped into the cigarettes bought by older kids/Cannabis/Ecstasy supply lines, it is a simple matter to graduate to the harder drugs - should you choose to do so.
