So according to you, if cancer is eating someone alive, they're weak if they want painkillers.
Patients cannot and should not decide which painkiller they will take for many reason. A bad mix in mnedicine can result in death. So I leave it up to the doctor to decide depending on the answers you give to his very precise questions.
He doesn't ask, so, does it hurt?
He asks, where does it hurt? When you answer he then asks, on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the least painful, where do you grade your pain.
Then he ^prescribes you something.
Then 4 hours later he comes back and asks you the same questions to see if its working. If not, he usually tries something else and doesn't increase the dosage of the last painkiller.
Different people react differently to different drugs.
I'm allergic to most of them so I'd rather endure the pain than vomit everywhere while sweating while being cold.

So your medical practice is based on ignorance, great. Oregon aint a bastion of right wingersNo one I have ever known has ever had any trouble getting the pain killers they need. That's not to say there are a bunch of right wing nuts in Arizona.

Of course, we rely on doctors for advice. But this isn't about advice, its about whether or not your doctor is free to advise and follow up. They aren't free... But ultimately we have to rely on the patient, the doctor doesn't know if you're in pain, how much, and what works. If your doctor gives you a minimal painkiller, what do you do as the patient when it fails to do the job. Does that Doc say, too bad. No, the Doc gives you a stronger painkiller.Patients cannot and should not decide which painkiller they will take for many reason. A bad mix in mnedicine can result in death. So I leave it up to the doctor to decide depending on the answers you give to his very precise questions.
God I hope he's already made the assumption I'm in pain, thats why I'm there if the first place. He doesn't ask, so, does it hurt?
Exactly, the patient decides how much pain and if the medication is working... Not the Doc...He asks, where does it hurt? When you answer he then asks, on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the least painful, where do you grade your pain.
cant disagree with the rest of your post

You're deciding what medications we can use, thats called practicing medicine. Btw, that doesn't even make sense, Kid.Why the hell are you saying I practice medicine? Why do you deal drugs?

I have yet to see side-effects to Ibuprofen.Limbaugh's experience with sudden hearing loss is not unique. In his case, it was due to autoimmune innear ear disease. Autoimmune inner ear disease in itself is not thatrare; several people have posted on the forum and e-mailed me describing symptoms of an autoimmune-related hearing loss.

How the hell did we get on the subject of painkillers, anyway? Was anyone arguing against the use of morphine as a (prescription) painkiller? The medical use of opiates and other narcotics is well-established. This thread's not even about legalizing heroin as a pain reliever, it's an invitation to cancel the War on Drugs, let people put whatever they want in their systems, whenever they want it. Which is asinine; I don't think many smackheads pay for stuff just as a form of pain relief.
Ice cream, like all pleasures, can cause a degree of psychological dependency. Heroin can cause that same psychological dependency only more so, plus a strong physical addiction. One consequence of that little difference is that heroin addicts in withdrawal will do ANYTHING to get money for a fix. They'll stab their best friends in the back, mug children, bend over and let a guy with AIDS sodomize them bareback, whatever it takes. Hence it is not in the best interests of society to legalize heroin.
If there are a lot of people out there who regularly steal from orphanages for money to pay the Good Humor man, maybe ice cream needs to be banned too. If not, ice cream stays legal, heroin stays illegal, and Berz is talking crazy.
