reds4ever, right, he's not a top contender in Pride, but he could 'hang around'. Listen, the formed champ Franklin, he couldn't even hang around in the backstage there. You know? Not the same caliber even.

Or what about the lightweight divisions, Pride has like a million in there with their Bushido etc. Or what about HW? That is SERIOUSLY lame in UFC, that might be the worst.. and in Pride, it rules. there's so many awesome fighters it's tingling my balls. Of course Fedor has been dominant, but still, Tim Sylvia, I mean they'd prolly call him an ambulance 'something is wrong with this kid; we think he is suffering from retardation and we don't know how he got in here'.

And GSP is not proven in this level and caliber yet either, but he sure looks like he can not only hang around but compete in that level. He is in the level of athletisism and skill, he looks really really good and isn't just one of those who look good, he is good. Too bad there is no competition for him in UFC.. I mean he is going to fight next who? Matt Serra? Please. THat's a waste of time.

UFC welterweights would own Pride any day of the week.

For HW, however, Pride wins hands down.

welterweights would own the division? In your dreams

Not a single division would own ANY Pride division. But,, individuals might do well. FOr example like I said, I think GSP would do very well.

You're wrong. The reason you think that is simply due to the different rules each plays by and what that means for the pace of the fight. UFC allows fighters to slow things down more than pride. Which means that the weaker fighter gets a chance to break the pace down, making both fighters look slower. It doesn't mean that the fighters aren't as fast.

Someone forgot to explain rules to Iran...on anything.

Iran is suspended from world soccer

                1 hour, 56 minutes ago

                ZURICH, Switzerland -
Iran was suspended from international soccer by FIFA on Thursday because of government interference with the country's soccer federation.

The decision was made Wednesday at an emergency council meeting of soccer's world governing body. FIFA said it had given Iran a Nov. 15 deadline to reinstate elected soccer federation president Mohammed Dadgan and comply with FIFA regulations.

"This deadline was not met," FIFA said.

FIFA said Iran was not abiding by rules regarding the "independence of the decision-making process of the football governing body in each country and the way in which changes in the leadership of associations are brought about."

Iran, which played in the 2006 World Cup and has qualified for the 2007 Asian Cup, will be reinstated only after drafting new statutes and organizing a new election under the supervision of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

"The lifting of this suspension would depend on the above road map being accepted and fully implemented by the relevant authorities in Tehran," FIFA said.

A revenge match between GSP and Hughes in Montreal!! But was dropped off...

                          UFC Calls Off Montreal Card

Earlier this month, UFC President Dana White told reporters that the UFC was planning to come to Montreal April 7th with Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes II as the headline bout.

Unfortunately for the Canadian fans things took a sudden change as Dana White called off the card on Thursday. In an interview with The Globe and Mail, White said “Fell apart, unfortunately, there were a lot of different things that made that fight fall apart.”

“I’m trying to regroup right now and figure out when we go to Canada.”

With St. Pierre vs. Hughes currently on the backburner, fans will get to see Matt Hughes make his return to the octagon at UFC 68 in Ohio.

It's good that Canadians are doing well in sports they don't care about. They need some sort of success to make up for the fact that a Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup in 12 years...

Yeah, you guys have gotten really good at hiring Canadians to win Stanley Cups for you.

                                Kudos.
