I usually say that Pekka over exaggerates things, but seriously, in this case, he most definately does not. It's absolutely frightening. And it isn't like it was shot to cast the people in the worst possible light.. the main woman wants to use to the documentary as promotional material .

I would prefer to read someone elses review of the documentary...

You know pekka that there has been songs like "Onward Christian Soldiers" etc since before the 20th century? Yet american christians haven't been strapping bombs to themselves, or taking guns and shooting hindu's or what have you for the last 100+ years.

Not saying these people aren't crazies, or even that they aren't dangerous. But you have to do more than tell me that they consider themselves an Army of God or for God for me to get incensed about them.

I saw the documentary. What heated me up? From 1 minute to the last.

And no I'm not exaggarating, I'm absolutely serious. I've seen the docs on terrorist orgs and this not only has similarities, it's 1:1.

And yes, the leader lady is proud of this film and promotes it, so there's your balanced view, as in even she doesn't think the documentary makes her look bad. She feels it's pretty accurate.

I strongly encourage anyone to see it though.. it really delivers a message.

Put it this way, in the documentary, the main woman speaks with awe about the devotion that kids in the Mid East who strap bombs to themselves have, and wants to bring that same devotion to Christian kids (though I don't think she wants them to blow up anything, though she didn't make that clear).

Oh, and she thinks Harry Potter would have gone to Hell in the Old Testament... she actually tells the kids that in a 'fire & brimstone' moment.

****ed up aye. Just straight brainwashing. Definitely has a militant edge to it. Was thinking that the only difference between these guys and Muslim terrorists is that these ones aren't desparate yet.

We have seen plenty of times that fundamentalism and fanaticism is not solely the province of Islam. It is easily noted that mainstream Islam is extremely critical of these more 'rogue elements' of their religion. The same applies in Christianity.

This is why, from my perspective, all religion is crazy and not just Islam.

Jep,
it isn´t the value itself (be it religion or another value like nationalism) that leads to fanaticism, but certain processes.
For example putting your religion, nation etc. above all others and not allowing any critical thinking about it (or keeping people from thinking about it by declaring any questioning of these values/thing is a deadly thing which wioll lead straightforward to hell).

It´s these processes that are the real evil
