        This is getting ridiculous.

And what if the child also smokes?

I wonder how that is enforcable and if its even legal. If i smoke in my car with my kids the windows are down and none of them sit in the front seat cause of the air bag. And the ciggarette is always out the window.

Wtf? How hard is it to just toss a cig out the window, or smash it into an ashtray? What a waste of ink this law was...
              Unbelievable!

Smoking in your car with kids

Even if the windows are down, they're getting second hand smoke.

This strikes me as just as enforceable as Connecticut's cell phone law (no cell phone while driving), though.

I bet you throw the cig out of the window when you've finished as well...

I would NEVER smoke with my children in the car.

And I never throw the cig out the window. Besides maybe starting a fire, or that it's littering, it might also distract a driver behind me... especially if it flew into their open window. People that do that should be shot

And I would never take my children into a smoking bar

Arkansas just passed a similar law, banning smoking in a vehicle in which a child under 6 and under 60 lbs is in a car seat.

A child under 6... yeah, because it's ok once they turn 7? Odd law.

                              ...

I confess to throwing a few cigarettes out of my window in my time. I'm reformed now, though. My bad.
