In addition to directly discouraging other costomers another smart thing to do would be to contact the Suppliers of the Gardeners (Plant nursuries, equipment retialers, landscaping material producers etc etc.) and encourage them to excerciese their right to free assosiation and not sell anything to Bigots. That would put them in a double bind.

How obtuse are you? Landscaping is not the issue here -- rather, the principle of acceptance and equality as opposed to ignorance and bigotry is what is at issue.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Note, I agree with you in principle.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

I can understand them not wanting to do landscaping for them. You have to bend over all the time spreading mulch and what not. No one wants some gay guy leching over your butt when your working.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

You can't have your cake, and eat it too, my friend.
Just because things have always happened in human history, and appear to have had an incredibly long tradition, does not mean we should put our hands up in the air, and sigh, "Oh well, we should just give up, and leave them be."
It would be unacceptable for all us to give up in the face of evil.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Any (non-essential) business person or service provider has the right to refuse service if serving would place them in an uncomfortable environment.
You're using the standard arguments of "how would you feel if the client was black?" What if you were hired to fix the computer of a homicide detective who kept graphic photos of his "clients" around the house, and this really got to you? Are you allowed to say it's upsetting and you can't work there?
Or a client who has a 24/7 slave, some woman kept (consensually) in a cage in the living room. Should a feminist be forced to work in such an environment, or are they allowed to decline the job?
(For the record, I think it would be awesome to work in either place, but I'm weird.)
Discrimination takes many shapes. Aside from the usual bigotry against gays, Jews, etc., there are plenty of non-standard characteristics that can upset or offend somebody. If you are upset or offended, you have the right not to put yourself in such a situation.
Of course the rebuffed client has every right to draw attention to your actions, and you may well suffer the consequences if other clients choose not to contract your services. You certainly do not deserve death threats or verbal abuse.
Egalitarianism and freedom are not synonymous. It's important for you to have the freedom to say "No."
