It's been around for 8 years and it still hasn't caught on...it's a failure.

        • Huh Asher... they're selling four times as many PS2s as Xbox 360s.

Why is that surprising at all?

Japan's got a massive PS2 game library and PS2 is dirt cheap (I'm sure many people are replacing their broken PS2s .

The idea is the 360 has been trending up, which is something the Xbox(1) never did. It started out strong and trended down constantly.

Sure it has caught on. Us Jazz and Classical music enthusiasts with golden ears are most pleased with our catalogs available in SACD.

That's great, but it hasn't caught on.

Is the original Xbox outselling the PS3 in America?

                    • The difference is that the original Xbox's library has about five good games in it

Considering the Xbox (1) was discountined from manufacturing a long time ago, no, it's not.

MS had fixed costs on the Xbox which meant they always lost money on it. When the 360 launched they stopped manufacturing Xbox consoles.

You're either trolling or you're full of it. You couldn't tell a CD and a SACD apart in a blind test, even if you had a decent system. Golden ear my ass...

                          • Actually its very easy to tell those apart. CDs are mixed from 4 sound channels to 2.0 stereo sound where SACDs are mixed from 6-8 channels to 5.1 surround sound.

                            SACDs sound pretty amazing

1 success out of 7 that they've backed. That's what, a 14% rate? Oh, and the other big difference is that the CD had no real competitor.

I can't tell if you're trying to troll and failing miserably, or if you really are drinking some sort of ****ing awesome kool-aid.

SACD is as much of a success as DVD Audio. Which is to say, "Sure, if you consider the the undefined percentage increase of 0 to 1 to be a rip-roaring success..."

Or, in other words, SACD is about as successful as Betamax, which had a long life in a very niche market, but failed in the greater market.

Or, in other words, SACD is about as successful as the MiniDisc, which is moderately popular in Japan, but nowhere else in the world.

Or, in other words, SACD is about as successful as the MemoryStick, which is kinda big for Sony products, but nobody else uses it.

Or, in other words, SACD is about as successful as ATRAC, which works great with Sony products, but nobody else wants it.

Or, in other words, SACD is about as successful as the UMD, which nobody gives a **** about anymore.
