Still a classic. Besides, Asher's whining about Tanguay not being on the PP was made about that game so it is relevant. And a perfect example of why Calgary is at the bottom of the standings.

Did they ignore Lindros skating through the goalie before the first goal against, and did they invent an infraction that didn't happen to call back the tieing goal in the last 5 seconds?

I still don't like it, and he was obviously uncomfortable having to make the admission, but I will give him the for making the admission. Unfortunately you can't go back, and it was still a horrible call, but I guess you can't fault him for making a mistake.

That is far from the first example where Tanguay coughed up the puck at the point leading to a SH break. Yet, Playfair keeps putting him there.

I watched the Flames game against Columbus last nights and the line of Tanguay-Kobasew and Lombardi was by far the best on the night for the Flames. Plus Roman Hamrlik played really well. Iginla scored but was not a big factor while Mclelland in the nets was decent enough. he actually played well for a long stretrch but the tieing goals was horrible.

The shootout went 11 rounds . .. and the Flames had the lead 3 times but Columbuis always got the equalizer. The nicest goal in the shootout was by Huselius-- man that guy has great moves .. . too bad he doesn't seem to have much/any grit. He's actually a healthy scratch tonight in St Louis

Last night the Flames surrendered 4 pp goals. Tonight its two more.. .. They really need to get their PK in order since they are winning the 5 on 5 part of a lot of games

The video opens with a replay showing Tanguay down by the Toronto net. In the next play, Phaneuf is on point, not Tanguay. Phaneuf, under pressure from Sundin, panicks and passes forward to Tanguay. Sundin gets the puck, takes off and scores.

The fault lies with Tanguay coughing up the puck, Phaneuf stumbling on his stick and then covering the wrong player, and Kippersoft standing like a seive.

Can't blame Playfair for that fiasco.


And in more breaking news, the Leafs break the Sabres, 4-1, Buffalo's first loss in regulation time.

I can't believe my goaltenders snuck up to take save percentage by .001.

I can't believe NYE has totally demolished me offensively this week and yet it still looks like I will only lose 4-3-1.

Though I am never happy to lose, if only by that margin I am happy (especially considering how badly I lost the G, A, PPG & PPA categories).

Tanguay started the PP on the point for the first ten games. He has a tendancy to cough up the puck on the point leading to SH breaks, and even if there is a turnover he can't skate backwards well enough to cover for it (another SHG were caused by this).

Not sure why you're defending Playfair when you haven't seen enough Flames games to even know how to spell Kiprusoff.
