    cares about nintendo?

with apple though, youre missing thepoint or purposefully avoiding it. marketshare is constantly in flux and in some areas for apple it grows and others it shrinks. its not like nintendo in which their only product has been shrinking.

as with sony, they just love ****ing themselves into worse and worse situations

Because other companies decided to join in? Of course they're going to lose marketshare.

this gets at what I was saying, having such a huge marketshare means you can only lose it when others catch on. i dont know what asher expects except complete domninance all the time.

He doesn't expect anything, he just wants to troll Nintendo AND Apple at once....AND he has Sony involved, too. He's so efficient

                I thought that was Sony.
Don't forget the PS2. The PS2 is still alive, still has a huge install base, still a big seller. There are still good games coming out for it. Okami, FF12, God of war 2.

OTOH, the Xbox is pretty much dead. They don't even sell Xbox consoles anymore.

Would you really describe Nintendo's N64 and Gamecube marketshares as "huge"?

But, you'll note, Asher, that I specified exactly the similarity in aesthetic design that Nintendo and Apple has, and made no mention of business prospects. So if you want to boost Microsoft's X360, go ahead, but really, let's get back to the issue at hand.

                      Sony ****ing sucks.

Isn't that the entire reason Asher makes these console threads?

We're not talking about handheld toys, we're talking about gameconsoles.

I was saying marketshare is another comparison that can be made. In fact, handhelds is another good comparison: Apple has the very successful iPod, Nintendo has the very successful DS, but both of their primary platforms (computer/console) have lost marketshare repeatedly over the years.

Growing is not the same as gaining marketshare.

See, Asher, now you've gone and done it. You've called my wonderful little DS a handheld toy.

I'd take my DS over that X360 or PS3 any day of the week. Probably even the Wii.

Then again, I was never that much for silly little console boob-tube boxes.
