I'm not piling on Vick (re that play). I'm just saying it's a pretty big assumption to say it was a designed play. Look, if you need to believe that he underthrew it on purpose, nothing I write is going to change your mind.
But certain facts remain:
The Falcons D gave up 31 points. They did not play consistently well. They basically played a half. That's not enough, especially against a good offense.
That I agree with. I simply felt that the team would have played like they did for all of the 2nd and 3rd Q (minus one play) in the 4th, if the Falcons score there... a new jolt of life.

The fact that they "need a jolt" to play well is sad.
