I was going to ask the same think...but in a much more pleasant tone of voice.

    I am registered.
    I shall vote.

I have voted in every election since I became only enuf except for two: One I has just changed states and wasn't yet registered; the other I was too sick to walk from the parking lot into the voting place.

So vote and the choice is yours.
Don't vote and the choice is mine.

(Good thread, Sloww no matter what our beaver-kissin' maple-leaf-blowin' neighbors to the north may say )

      I'm not voting.

I'm an independant. I'll only vote for someone if I agree with their positions more than I disagree with them. I don't vote strategically, because I disagree with Republicans and Democrats pretty much equally. I hate all my options in this election, and I don't believe in voting for "the lesser of two evils."

I'd love to see someone justify voting Republican...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

I'd love to see you make a point that was your own business and had any worth to it at all.

Good lord. I'm a liberal Democrat and loath just about everything the Republican Party does...but even I can put forth some reasons to vote for Republicans.

            (1) The highest stock market in history
            (2) Launched and prosecuted a war on international terrorism.
            (3) Rolled back taxes.
            (4) Not afraid to inject religious values into governmental decisions.
            (5) Eagerness to be tough on crime.

Like Zk here. Now here's a man that appreciates worth, no matter where he sees it. He's a thinker, not a mouth runner.

              WTG, Z.

I'm extremely proud to say, again, that I've voted both democrat and republican about equally, depending on the times and the who is in the race.
Tomorrow, I cast my first vote for an Independent.

This is just my opinion, but I certainly don't agree with not voting as a means of protest.
I think that's just a ridiculous way to try and make a point.

Maybe he meant Maryland where the Republican governor Bob Ehrlich has pushed for paper ballots and to abandon the voting machines that caused trouble in the primary.

                            Voted (by mail)

I'm continuing my anti-democratic [small "d"] rampage. Of 16 statewide and local ballot measures, I voted yes on only 3--and 1 one of these was just a technical matter which will let the fire department build stations on parcels of less than 2 acres if they believe it's more efficient.

My view is that governing should be done by those elected to govern. Most of these measures are inefficient clubs designed to inflict overkill on miniscule problems or drunken-sailor spending via bond measures with no income streams provided with which to pay them off. Almost all governing is setting priorities based upon the resources you have; but these bonds just spend and spend and spend with no thought given to how to pay them back.

I'm gonna vote, I just don't know who for. The most left wing people in the races, I guess. Definately not Bill Nelson though.

Did I need to register to vote (for TX governor), if I registered to vote for the '04 election? These things are like, lifelong, right?
