I've lived in Chicago so long, I thought it was OK for dead people to vote... since the Dems vote from the grave all the time here, and nobody seems to care

Be fair Ming, the Dems haven't stolen a Presidential election since 1960.

Besides, the Republicans have such lousy candidates that it's worth their while to get up and vote.

It always amuses me when the US criticses another nation for having a corrupt democracy (such as Russia) where overvoting occurs or whatnot when the US has the exact same problems.
It's quite depressing that Americans seem to simply not care - whether its purging legitimate voters or adding dead voters, these things have almost become accepted in the US.

I think the political murders in Russia have more to do with America's perception of it as a "corrupt democracy" than voting irregularities do.

The reason so many more dead people vote Democrat than Republican is that the Democrats actually ran a dead candidate for Senate once (And he beat John Ashcroft )

So when was the last time there was massive cases of dead people voting in Chicago? As opposed to say... the millions of blacks and hispanics who have been purged from voting rolls during this very election.

Uhm, I don't want to get in the way of your self-pwning, but ...

I'm sure you've heard of this guy, right? Bill Richardson, Governor of New Mexico? UN delegate for Bill Clinton, briefly considered as a VP candidate for the Democratic party in 2004?

Or are you going all the way back to Gary Johnson in 2000? In which case you should perhaps make that clear by using "had" instead of "has". (Gary Johnson, btw, isn't a career politician, but is a construction magnate who won election in 1994 following a series of corrupt politicians, mostly democrats. He proved not to be a very effective politician due to his inability to 'play politics', but he managed to be reelected in 1998 nonetheless. He is, also, not really a Republican, but a Libertarian, being the highest ranking US official to suggest legalizing drugs, and having considered in 2004 and again considering in 2008 running for President as a Libertarian.)

                    1. Dead people I'm not sure about, but look at any Chicago Tribune or Sun Times front page to see the massive corruption of the Democrats here ... though the Republicans are just as bad, just different location (Springfield vs Chicago) ...

                    2. Are you suggesting that those purged shouldn't have been purged? If so, then provide attribution for why not. Otherwise, I'll presume that he's purging felons, as is required by federal and state law ...

                      Tass called it!

A new statewide database of registered voters contains as many as 77,000 dead people on its rolls, and as many as 2,600 of them have cast votes from the grave, according to a Poughkeepsie Journal computer-assisted analysis...

Democrats who cast votes after they died outnumbered Republicans by more than 4 to 1. The reason: Most of them came from Democrat-dominated New York City, where the higher population produced more matches.
77,000 dead people being on the rolls isn't surprising, as I doubt voter registrars keep an eye on the obit pages. 2,600 dead votes is a rather minuscule number of votes compared to the number of eligible voters that the GOP knocks out. In NY state, that's nothing, relatively speaking. In absolute terms, it's a crime which should be aggressively punished, but it in no way evens out the election fraud perpetrated in the rest of the country.

It's an urban myth. Despite what people in Chicago would have you believe, Kennedy carried Illinois without Daley's machinations.

Millions is an overstatement, but in Florida in 2000, 94,000 eligible voters were knocked off the rolls, 50,000 of whom were Black, even though only 15% of Floridians are Black. In addition, despite butterfly ballots in Broward county (where I now live), the worst election shenanigans occurred in Duval County (where I used to live), where 27,000 Black votes were spoiled by improperly cleaned machines maintained by the GOP county commissioners. Only the Black precincts had these problems, not the white, and GOP, precincts.

                                Update

One poll now says Blackwell behind by 32%

                                Looking at Ohio's online newspapers:

6th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals said a judge was incorrect in dropping the requirement for Ids. bad for democrats, they're poorer, less educated, less likely to have them

Both parties encouraging their people to vote absentee. Bearing on election unknown.

                                "Fraud" to be rigorously prevented, {looks like lots of "spoiled" Democratic ballots}

Judge throws out democratic suit telling Blackwell to allievate lines. (There were 10 hour lines in Democratic Cleveland).
