Refusing to pay the TV fees was a way to "walk the talk" for the resigned cultural minister. Too bad she didn't have backbone enough to admit it. Instead she said it was wrong and resigned. Flip-flopper!

It's not immoral for someone who advocates low taxes, to find ways to avoid paying some of them. It's worse if leftist politicians commit the same misdemeanors, as they then go against their own principles. That's why Gudrun Schyman had to resign, and why the current politicians shouldn't. (But they don't have the backbone to stand up for what they believe in.)

But that´s beside the point, the point is that when the transgressions occured the newspapers were after the ministers in question like a pack of wolves. Mona sahlin was force to resign because she´d used her government credit card for buying various small stuff like a Toblerone bar. How am I wrong then? I know for sure that the monthly fee is ~60 kn while the average monthly salary in June was 4557 kn. That translates to 720 kn yearly, or 15,79%.

The revised figure for Sweden is 8,33%.

So we definitely pay more in relative terms.

Tomas Bodström didn't start to pay the TV fee until after he became minister of justice. But he didn't resign, and there was no media wolfpack hunting him.

I think it´s quite serious for a minister of culture (who´s responsible minister for the state TV) to evade the same license she´s forcing everyone else to pay

And I don´t think Tobias Billström will be forced to resign, much like Bodström wasn´t. In his case it has no direct connection to his office and he hasn´t done anything else (like Borelius).

She isn't forcing anyone else to pay it, that was the former government (which we voted out). She was head of a think tank that were opposing public service TV. It was a political act of her not to pay, and putting her in the government was indicating an upcoming change of policy. But then she flip-flopped and resigned, so I guess we will not see any change of policy after all. Same ****, different day...
