15.8%? That is staggering...5.8% is bad enough...

In Sweden you pay 164 kr/month. That would be 1% of your monthly salary if you earn 16000 kr/month. I don´t know where VetLegion gets his numbers...

I think this is more telling of the state of Swedish media and the climate of public debate than of Swedish politicians.

Somebody apparently have their minds firmly set on trying to compromise in every possible way this travesty that is a non-Social Democratic government. "Yeah, when those stupid voters don't know what's good for them, we'll show them, one way or another!"
Yeah, because the media hasn't harassed socdem politicians?

This is indicative of the extreme bias of your climate of public debate. Anything that doesn't conform to the precious Social Democratic way of looking at things has to be run through the grinder and presented in the worst possible light.

This new government is clearly an aberration and must be confronted by any means necessary. It's just not natural for Sweden to have Social Democrats on the sidelines, seems to be the unspoken mantra of your leading media outlets.

I can only conclude you're crazy, not following our media, or both.

I took 26000 SEK (one of the numbers Google turned up) to be the average monthly salary and 1500 SEK (from the BBC article) to be the annual fee. Analogous data acquisition for Croatia. That is how I came up with my numbers.

You'll note that you're computing a year's fees as a percentage of a month's wage, whereas Zoid is computing a month's fees as a percentage of a month's wage. That you reach wildly different results should be no surprise.

No, just the plain fact of leftists dominating most of the media in Scandinavia. It's hardly a secret to anyone with an ounce of critical thought in their head.

26000 is way to much. 18000 is the numbers according to the national census bureau. And you can´t divide the yearly fee with the monthly income. That´ll give you the kind of screwed up numbers you got...

Winston, you are aware that 70-80% of all swedish newspapers have a centre-right view? All the major newspapers (except Aftonbladet) are liberal.

                            OK, thanks for that info.

I can divide it with daily or hourly income if I want, the point was comparison with other countries.

Doesn't mean anything what they declare themselves to be. I'm looking at their reporting. Politiken, the most left-leaning paper in Denmark is also supposedly centre-right. More like yeah-right.

And the state-run broadcasters are supposed to be neutral. Biggest joke of all time, that.

Do you think it was the government's supporters who dug up this dirt?

It doesn´t matter what government is currently in power. Do I have to remind you of the numerous socdem ministers that have been forced to resign due to finacial irregualrities and other stuff?
