And there is an alledgedly dead person. One can wonder why that person is alledegedly dead, or if they will rise again like Lazerus.
This isn't a question about court standards. It's about the facts.

The wife is dead. That's a fact.

To say that she was murdered would be wrong, because we don't know if she was murdered. It is an allegation and that why we should be describing it as an allegation.

According to the OP the husband is responsible for the death, for the reason stated, so we do know it is murder. Assuming the OP is true of course.

That's what you say. Others believe otherwise.

Oh, and just when were the 10 commandments repealed?

First, the NT doesn't "replace" the OT, as you might know, but "fulfill" it. Secondly, let's agree that in Jewish faith that rule applies.

More on the topic, I find myself in between notyoueither and Oerdin. I don't think Islam is "unreformable", but it is very far from being reformed some day soon.
There are intellectual ways to ship around the reefs of orders for violence in the Quran (the afore mentioned historical relativism being one), but lamentably no mainstream muslim school actively goes for it. Most muslims either have some understanding and excuse for the violence or hide behind rather weak statements of "Islam is a religion of peace", underlining their moderate stand-point with even weaker theological quotes like "The Quran says 'there is no force in faith' " etc., without starting with their critique more at the roots.
Many muslims would not want to kill a convert, but they lack a theological/ideological basis of their own to fight that fundamentalism on the religious battleground.

You seem to need the authorities to tell you what to think.

Honour killings are a real problem.

Here in germany we have them sometimes too (especially among muslims with turkish origin),
with families killing their daughters, just because, for example,
they had a christian boyfriend or because they didn´t want to marry the muslim man which her parents had destined to become her husband (which often also meant that she had to leave germany and immigrate into turkey).

The problem also is that the whole family plans the murder, but on court normally the youngest son takes all the blame for the murder, meaning that often he will only get a sentence for the murder according to the criminal law for youth offenders (which normally "just" consists of a couple of years in prison)
whereas his parents and brothers often get away free, because of lack of evidence (as, of course, all family member will testify the same, i.e. that only the youngest brother was involved)

I´m normally against death penalty, but in case of honour killings I´d really support it.

mrt144, I don't know if they mentioned linux but I heard he screamed 'open source or death' and basically claimed that if the second tier internet becomes reality, he will kill a whole lot more people. He also had one request, that he could bring Eric Raymonds Jargon File of how to become a hacker with him to the jail.

                          Peace brother!
