Fastest ever World Cup goal scored by San Marino against England ( ) after 8 seconds. It may even have been a Stuart Pearce own goal....

NHL: Fastest 3 goals in one game: 21 seconds, Bill Mosienko (1952)
NHL: Most points (career): 2856, Gretzky
NHL: Most assists (career): 1962, Gretzky
NHL: Most goals by a rookie (season): 76, Teemu Selanne (1992-1993)

All of those are pretty solid. They have their nearest competitors beat by 50% or more.

              Wilt Chamberland rules all

Probably all of these will be hard to break, and some impossible, like 100 points in one game or 59 in the first half.

Kobe put up 81 in a game last season, so I wouldn't close the door on that one completely (though it does seem unlikely)

Also: Batting average (career): .366, Ty Cobb

Yup, Wilt Chamberlain was a beast. Well ahead of his time. Also of note: he left from college early, unlike all of UCLA's studs who stayed because they were paid off by Sam Gilbert.

                    Ooooohhh....thought of a couple more:

NHL: Most shutouts (career): 103, Terry Sawchuk
NHL: Most consecutive Stanley Cups: 5 (1956-1960)

EDIT: forgot to say who won the most consecutive Stanley cups. It was, of course, the Montreal Canadiens

Not quite, Mike Bossy had 50 some goals on his rookie year. And ron Francis has like 1250 assists or so.

                      Spec.

                          Records that can't be broken

                          Florence Griffith-Joyner's 1988 10:49 time at 100 m.

Also, my vinyl copy of Mike Olfield's 1973 album Tubular Bells. Just ain't gonna happen!
