Cosby is still my fav overall.
Carlin was good most of the time.

Surpirsed no one has mentioned the king of insults, don rickles.
Chris Rock is usually entertaining also.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Sloww, that's a good point. I mean.. He is one of them who have been able to go global. It's not easy thing to do, if you can entertain and make laugh French, Germans, Brits and Americans, then you are golden. And yes, when it comes to humour, these are all very different groups.

In general, I don't particularly enjoy British stand up except for few exceptions, Izzard being one of them.

It's weird, I just never saw the attraction of Eddie Izzard. Just never made me laugh...
Dunno, maybe I missed the good stuff...

Yeah, Eddie never did it for me either.
Whenever he's on, I try to watch because so many people think he's great. Some stuff is funny, but in total, I'm not impressed

Irony, sarcasm and Americans, seldom make a good couple. ;-)

Another favorite is Gallager. His humor is thinking man humor (unless it includes a sledge hammer )
He's not just a prop comic.

Hmm, Drake doesn't like him. Makes perfect sense.

Rah: his best was Dress to Kill. I've seen some other stuff and it's not nearly as good. But DtK was so good he's forever going to be on my list of favorite comedians.

                      Yeah, I like good comedians...

Izzard's fans may be making me judge him more harshly than I otherwise would, though. They're the same nerds who worship Monty Python and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and think that doing so shows how truly intellectual and special they are. Really sad and annoying...

Not one mention of Billy Connelly. You're all banned from discussing stand-ups.

Worship is a tad much, but both of those rock. You have no taste. Confirmed.
