That's precisely the most annoying thing I find about certain americans nowadays, the attitude that they can just destroy people who don't show the proper amount of respect. I laugh in your general direction, and sneeze bogies on your sister.
      I think Drake just won.

I'd report that attack on my family if I knew what the **** a "bogie" was. I imagine he's not talking about the enemy planes that are destroyed so easily by America's amazing armed forces...

The Australian accent is derived from the London accent, so no great mystery there, mate.

Best not to judge a country by the obnoxious posts of a troll like Drake.

Yeah, Elok or Drake are just annoying pr*cks...I don't judge their country on them, just them, but they should be aware that many people do...and this is what earns the US such a bad reputation...

And we all know what country has the best army and navy. Bow down, you limey *****es...

You assume the US has the best why. Finalnd had a better army then the USSR, they lost but it did not make the Fins a worse army.

I think the whole invading a country thing went against us too. And the torture stuff. But yes, I probably did a great deal to give the US a terrible, terrible reputation by saying things that make you have a hissy fit on an internet forum.

EDIT: Waitaminit, why am I even getting dragged into this at all? I've made one (1) post in this thread prior to this point, and that was pretty obviously a joke, and an outlandish one at that. Or did you think I was honestly suggesting Britain's elite military forces spend time and money embarrassing a foreign head of state? Not to mention throwing away a perfectly delectable hunk of meat...

I don't know what kind of bug you've got up your butt for me in particular. Perhaps you want to have a silly Asher/Agathon style prolonged-catfighting feud? If so, I'm not interested.

Pitcairn was settled, IIUC, in the late 1700's, a period of substantial change in the English language, esp in the port cities on both sides of the Atlantic (since the Pitcairn islanders were sailors, Id think that important) so Im not sure why we would assume that Pitcairn dialect is closer to the English of the 1600's than places that were settled in the 1600s.

and of course there was no one english in england in the 1600s but several regional dialects - and the US was settled from different regions - New England heavily from East Anglia, the Chesapeake (seed region for the South) from the West Country, and Pennsylvania heavily from rural areas of the north - the isolated villages where the Society of Friends developed. USA standard dialect is a blend of regional dialects.
