I'm not suggesting everyone detained is completely innocent, by any means. But this was 90% political propaganda and fearmongering.

And further to the point being debated, Canada's military role in Afganistan was consistently cited as the reason for the anger of the parties detained.

So how is killing Afgani's making Canada safer?

Not only that, in their discussions of the "plot" they were actually debating whether or not violence was right or wrong. Hardly the stuff of hardened terrorists, eh?

That's when our helpful security forces took the initiative and delivered explosives to them, then made the arrests. And the Harper government had it's very own "terror" plot.

Whilst Afghanistan could be deemed a legitimate target in the 'War on Terror' TM, Iraq was purely an unconnected exercise in regime change - needlessly radicalising a whole body of muslims who might have otherwise done nothing in the wake of the invasion of Afghanistan...
